The facility manager is an energetic, professional, outgoing self-starter with excellent sales skills and a team player who works well with others, with superb marketing and customer service skills. The manager pays close attention to detail and has light bookkeeping and computer skills.

Responsible for sales and marketing, keeping the facility rented at optimum levels using advertising, promotional and customer relations skills as approved by management. Rents space and actively sells and maintains supplies of merchandise. Provides outstanding customer service, including assessing and resolving customer problems and professionally handling phone and walk-in inquiries. Inspects the facility daily, responds promptly to any situation and advises management. Manages the office, including opening and closing on time each day, and keeps all required tenant documentation neat and orderly. Controls delinquencies by phone and letter on a scheduled basis, including sending monthly invoices. Maintains the accuracy of petty cash, makes daily bank deposits and prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports. Assists in preparing units for auction and vacating as prescribed by law and approved by management. Keeps the facility neat, clean, safe and secure, including minor maintenance and daily lock checks, and notifies the District Manager of maintenance items in a timely manner. Communicates effectively with management and fellow employees. All managers report directly to the District Manager.

Basic computer operation in Windows, including experience with a self storage software application. Understanding of an automated gate system.

Prior self storage experience preferred. Office skills, communication and familiarity with office machines. Sales skills preferred. Cash handling and telephone skills.

Good organizational skills and basic bookkeeping. Basic knowledge of self storage industry law. A successful record of sales and marketing in the self storage industry. Types a minimum of 35 wpm. Comfortable with general office machines and pays close attention to detail. Employment is subject to satisfactory results of a background check.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Sitting for approximately six hours per day; light lifting.
